It is about all we talked in class today. The variation is common in the streets, we find different accents in London so the British accent is not the only one we are going to find if we travel abroad.
To my mind, it doesn't matter where you are, because you will hear english speakers in every orner in the world. Maybe with differents accents or idioms but you will be able to understand what they say or what they are trying to communicate.
Getting exposed to the wide range of variation of English accents would be a marvelous idea so that we can learn a bit more of how important and extraordinary English is.
